“S…Peachy” Feedback Linky Party

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone had an amazing Mother's Day weekend!

I absolutely loved shopping during the TPT "Teacher Appreciation" sale! Thank you so much to everyone who purchased from my store. Your feedback is truly a blessing to read and a motivation to continue creating products that you use and enjoy. I {LOVE} this opportunity to link up with Nicole from Allison's Speech Peeps to recognize and appreciate a buyer that left insightful, helpful and encouraging feedback on a product.

I wish I could honor everyone because my decision was so hard! The individual I have selected is someone that left feedback that not only mentioned that she was excited about using the product, but that her students showed excitement as well! I'm sure many SLPs can agree that we are 100% in this profession to help others and I love that she included her students in her feedback!

Thank you so much to "Joyful Speech and Language" for leaving amazing feedback on my Summer Homework Calendars for Speech {Articulation, Language & Fluency}!

Joyful Speech and Language -please email me a free product of your choice from my store (forhisgloryteaching@gmail.com).\

Head over to the S…Peachy” Feedback Linky Party to see if someone honored you with a free product as well!

{VIP} Status!

Oh. em gee! Have you read Rachel's blog post over at The Tattooed Teacher about her V.I.P.s yet?! Run. don't walk. Greatest idea EVER!

I saw her post about it on instagram in January and immediately set to work on creating my VIP table in my classroom. My students were ya know... angels kinda acting nuts. I am sure none of you know what that is like..ha! I was so excited because I knew this would be just the perfect incentive!

I moved our rug from our classroom library to the middle of the room, brought in a table, and got to work making it VIP-ish! I typed up VIP with an adorable KG font and taped it on. Then, I put together their *own* set of special supplies. Things like: pens, highlighters, markers, pencils, erasers, tissue, hand sanitizer (seriously their FAV!), sticky notes, scissors, etc!

I pick 3 V.I.P. students a week. These students also get special privileges on top of sitting in the middle of the room like the V.I.P.s they are! They get to line up first, pack up first, take their shoes off, keep their water bottle at their desk (woah! it's a big deal..) work on their own rug, monitor the bathroom breaks, and more! I also usually put a little surprise on their desk every other day or so. I have given them bubble wands, special glasses, and even donuts!! The target dollar spot is amazing for these gifts!! This week, I added the V.I.P Paparazzi. The VIPS now get to take pictures of exciting classroom things for our classroom Instagram! I have them upload their photos on Google Drive, and then I upload them to Instagram (the app doesn't work on our school wifi). To read more about my classroom Instagram and even snag a free parent permission form see my post here

As a class, we talked about what it means in the real world to be a V.I.P. and what it would mean for our classroom. We discussed that these people are model citizens, role models, and they work super hard to earn the award or privilege. We came up with some things I would be looking for in our V.I.P.s when I am trying to choose for the next week....things like: on task behavior (duh), good citizen, respecting others, neat work, etc. I also told them that you can lose your V.I.P. status anytime during the week that you are not doing those things. #sadface

Let me tell you, my students are SERIOUS about this table. It is a BIG deal. I have seen a huge turn around of classroom behavior since introducing this to my class! I have seen those students that really don't care about incentives or feel like they can't earn anything work SO hard to earn this special privilege! I encourage you to think about if this would work for your classroom and try it out! Let me know if you have any questions!!

Superhero Product Linky

Hey friends!

Did you hear? TPT is having a sale this week! "Teachers are superheroes"! We thought we would link up with Fifth in the Middle to each share a "heroic" product that has helped teachers!!

Ashley's Heroic Product:

I love this product! These are simple inferencing task cards. On each card there is a QR code that the student scans afterwards to check if they were correct! My students loved being able to check themselves. It created a whole new level of engagement in my classroom! I set these up as a station so that there was only 3-4 kids at a time using the cards and the tablets.
I used the inferencing poster to help teach and review what an inference was. I then left it projected for them to refer to! You could even print 4-6 to a sheet and have them glue it in their notebooks. I also included a recording sheet for their answers. You could use this or even have them respond in their notebooks.

Here is some feedback from other teachers about using this product in their classroom!

I hope you find this product useful!! Click here to add it to your cart! Have fun shopping!!

Amanda's Heroic Product:

This product has saved me so many hours of finding carry-over activities to send home to parents to encourage generalization of articulation skills practiced during therapy sessions. Home practice is a large part of speech therapy success. This homework packet has over 35 weeks for articulation activities. Students are assigned one page per week to practice their speech sounds with a homework partner. Each page should take 10-15 minutes to complete. There is also a parent newsletter to help guide and encourage parents to use the packet each week.

Pages without the dates are also included to encourage the use of this packet for many years!
...But, don't just take my advice, here is some feedback from a few amazing therapists that have found this packet helpful!

HAPPY SHOPPING!

{INSTAGRAM} for the Classroom!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been so M.I.A lately. OOPS!! It's so hard to balance it all sometimes! Today is an "ICE" day here in Texas so I am finally getting to link up for a blog post!! I also recently purchased my TPT Conference ticket for VEGAS this summer! ahhhhhh!! I can't believe I am actually going. I can wait to meet and learn from some amazing blogger and Instagram friends!!!

Speaking of Instagram.. Do you Insta? Well I sure hope so! It is the new way to gain ideas and inspiration for your classroom! If you do make sure you follow me! If you don't...well what are you waiting for?!

I wanted to do a quick post and link up with Tech with Jen for "Don't Worry Be Appy" Monday on how I use Instagram in my classroom! I decided to start a separate Instagram for my classroom this year. It is completely private except to my parents. I would like to think my students go home telling their Mom & Dad all of the exciting and engaging things we do each day in class, but I am sure that isn't quite the case. So NOW, they can FOLLOW us in the classroom!! I post pictures of field trips, experiments, go noodle brain break videos, reader's theatre, and MORE. They eat. it. up. My students love it too. They love the idea that I might be snapping a picture of them for their parents to see!
I had my parents all sign a form in the beginning of the year to allow me to take private photos of them. If a parent didn't sign, then those kids' faces just wouldn't be in any photos. Click here to get a free blank copy of this form!
I then made the page completely private. They have to request to follow me, and I have to see that it is them before I approve. I don't follow any one from that page.

At the end of the year I will warn them when I am deleting the photos in case they want to screenshot them/save them. Then I will delete and block the old parents to get ready for the new class that is coming my way!

There are many ways to use Instagram in the classroom! Here are a few ideas:

-photos of what is happening in the classroom
-field trip reminders
-videos of school activities or performances
-photos of school activities like assemblies/special guests
-homework reminders
-last minute communication

I would love to hear if any of you are using this wonderful app in your classrooms and your great ideas for it! Next year I think I will add my classroom Twitter! :)

Head to the link up to see more "app-y" posts!

 Happy Monday!!

ARTICULATION {GRAB-N-GROW}

Wow! It's been forever since I have blogged, but it feels so good to check in with y'all! Since my last post this happened...

Yep! That's right! We are expecting a baby this May! We are so excited for this amazing gift God has blessed us with and we are so anxious to meet our sweet baby.  Only 14 more weeks! :)

School has been {crazy busy} as it tends to be during the Spring semester, but creating new materials is one of my favorite things to do after a long day! My latest project is a growing set that I am very excited to introduce to y'all! Articulation: Grab-n-Grow will allow you to target a sound at the word, phrase, sentence and reading level. Each set is perfect for "on the go" therapy or as a carryover activity for parents. The set is designed to grow with your students as they master each level. Select pages allow your students to interact using the picture icons at the bottom of each set. The first target sound is "k," but there will be many others coming soon! :)

WORD LEVEL:

At the word level, students are able to practice the target sound using the interactive page with the picture icons as well as the word lists. Word list contain targets in the initial, medial and final positions.

PHRASE LEVEL:

At the phrase level, students are able to practice the target sound using the interactive pages with the picture icons. Two initial phrase words are included.

SENTENCE LEVEL:

At the sentence level, students are able to practice the target sound using the interactive pages with the picture icons as well as a list of sentences with target sound.

READING LEVEL:

At the reading level, students are able to practice while reading a short passage filled with the target sound in the initial, medial and final positions.

Please let me know if y'all have any questions. Also, feel free to comment with your success with using it during your therapy sessions. Hope y'all enjoy this new product! :)
